Governance, Oversight & Compliance Committee

Mandate:
To safeguard SOLLA's institutional integrity through effective governance, legal compliance, and strategic alignment with national and sectoral standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitor board conduct and adherence to ethical and legal obligations.
  • Ensure transparency, internal accountability, and procedural fairness.
  • Review compliance with national laws, sectoral regulations, and internal policies.
  • Advise on governance reforms, duties, and risk management.
  • Coordinate institutional audits, performance reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Recommend corrective actions and policy adjustments where necessary.

Policy, Rules & Regulatory Affairs Committee

Mandate:
To ensure institutional adaptability and legal coherence through policy formulation, rule harmonization, and regulatory review.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Draft, revise, and harmonize internal rules, sectoral policies, and legal instruments.
  • Advise on legal reforms and alignment with evolving national and international frameworks.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of committee mandates, operational guidelines, and governance documents.
  • Facilitate stakeholder consultations and legal roundtables on policy changes.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of updated legal and policy documents.
  • Support other committees in interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks.

     Legal Practice, Ethics & Member Development Committee. 

    Mandate:

    To regulate professional conduct, promote ethical legal practice, and support member development through mentorship and capacity-building initiatives.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Oversee licensing, accreditation, and disciplinary procedures for legal practitioners.
    • Develop and implement mentorship programs and Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
    • Provide member support services including wellness, inclusion, and career advancement.
    • Promote ethical standards and sectoral excellence through codes of conduct and peer review.
    • Coordinate with the Governance Committee on disciplinary matters and ethics enforcement.
    • Facilitate member feedback mechanisms and professional growth pathways.

    Public Engagement, Advocacy & Resource Mobilization Committee

    Mandate:
    To amplify SOLLA's visibility, public trust, and strategic influence through media engagement, advocacy, and partnership development.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Lead public relations, media campaigns, and documentary production.
    • Develop and implement strategic advocacy initiatives aligned with SOLLA's mission.
    • Build partnerships with civil society, government, academia, and international actors.
    • Mobilize financial and technical resources to support institutional programs.
    • Monitor public perception and recommend communication strategies.
    • Coordinate with other committees to promote transparency and public accountability.
